The center of excellence is expected to perform as the regional hub for state of the art research and training, which will equip the human resources for health in line with the principles and core capacities to reach sustainable health development, in Iran, the region and perhaps beyond.   In light of this, the next INPACT Steering Committee (SC) meeting is going to be held in February 2021 jointly by TUMS and UM. The curriculum for the field of global health was compiled based on the educational needs extracted in the first work package, using the opinions of 20 domestic experts from prominent academic staff members of universities of medical sciences in the fields related to the obtained educational needs. This program is compiled in 32 units, including 24 main compulsory units, 4 optional units and 4 thesis units. This curriculum was sent to the Supreme Council of Medical Education Planning of the Ministry of Health for final approval after the consensus of experts and approval from the Medical Education Development Center of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. This research school includes nine workshop titles in different research topics. It started on 13 November, 2023 and will continue until July 2024. These workshops are held once a month. In each meeting, two respected members of the academic staff of the university along with the students are responsible for facilitating the program. Participation in these workshops is open to the public. This center as a network of professionals of global health seeks solutions for global health problems in the East Asia and MENA. Considering the importance of social values in health systems decisions, this center will act according to Iranian social values. Hence, participation, accountability, transparency, equity, solidarity, freedom of choice will be our guide in planning and performing all of the activities. The other aim that this center follows is to improve global health through excellence in education, training, research and application of knowledge in East Asia and MENA. The design and implementation of the construction and equipping of this center has started from November 2022, and according to the progress of the work, which is according to the plan so far, it is expected that the center will be operational by November 2023. Launched and ready to accept students and researchers in the field of global health.
