Program Description:

This short course has been designed to outline a diagnostic evaluation of strabismus (squint). It also provides a scheme for common visual symptoms and signs based on the case history and objective assessment in patients with stra bismus. In an attempt to perform a diagnostic assessment, the course covers different aspects of diagnostic investigation in patients with strabismus, namely measurement, comitancy, frequency, direction, magnitude, AC/A ratio, eye laterality, eye dominancy, variability of the deviation, cosmesis, and classification. Extra information is also provided regarding imperative sensory adaptations, such as suppression, amblyopia, and anomalous correspondence. Type of fixation in strabismic patients is also discussed in the course in order to understand its importance in the management plan of strabismus. The course is specially intended for those students who are planning to work in eye hospitals especially in the department of strabismus. However, it is also useful for others who wish to work in private sectors.  



To be able to fully make a diagnostic evaluation of strabismus based on specific criteria.






Admission Requirements

General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.

Specific Requiremetns: Postgraduate optometrists, graduate optometry students, optometry students, ophthalmology residents, and medical students.  received in Iran or abroad

The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved related Degree program and should be proficient in English or Persian.

Admission Deadline

Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.

However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
