Biography:

Dr. Ma has been engaged in teaching traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and acupuncture for many years and is good at teaching in English. She is one of the key lecturers from “Teachers Training Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine Programs Taught in English of Ministry of Education”, the key lecturer of “Acupuncture and Moxibustion” Brand Course of Ministry of Education. She was awarded the first prize of competition of teaching TCM in English of BUCM. Dr. Ma was invited as expert to give bilingual TCM health lectures in Beijing Fair of 2013, 2014 and 2018. She is one of the major lecturers for both domestic and foreign students in 5-year and 8-year programs and 2-year TCM master program for overseas medicinal practitioners, including subjects of Techniques of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Basic Theories of TCM, Channels and Acupoints, Therapeutics of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, etc. She has been invited as a lecturer in numerous training courses for foreign doctors or medical staff and been invited to attend academic exchanges in many countries. Dr. Ma is practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine in Guo Yi Tang Clinic of BUCM and Beijing Guang Ji TCM Hospital. She is proficient at using acupuncture and herbs to regulate endocrine system, to regulate sub-health condition, to treat gynecological diseases and various pain disorders. Dr. Ma has been mainly engaged in the study of clinical effects of acupuncture and its affecting factors and mechanism. She has hosted 12 national, provincial and university research projects, including 1 project funded by National Key Research and Development Program and 2 projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, and participated in more than 20 research projects. More than 60 articles have been published by her as the first or corresponding author, and 17 articles have been indexed by SCI. Four bilingual textbooks have been published by her as Editor-in-chief (Translator-in-chief) or associate editor-in-chief. As editorial board member, Dr. Ma participated in writing 3 TCM books in English.
