The Macquarie University Team Visited Tehran University of Medical Sciences and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed

In this meeting that was held at 02:00 P.M, 30th January, 2016, an International team from Macquarie University and their counterparts in Tehran University of Medical Sciences(TUMS) attended the meeting with the purpose of examining the possibilities of collaboration between the two universities and signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

At the beginning of the meeting, all attendees introduced themselves upon the request of Dr. Kheradmand, the vice-chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs, and then he introduced Tehran University of Medical Sciences and gave a brief summary of all the faculties and headquarters of the university.

Dr. Paul Schreier, Chief Operating Officer introduced the Macquarie University and talked about the research priorities of their university. Following Dr. Paul Schreier, Dr. Ren Yi, the director of Research Training and International Research Training lectured about the comparison of Iranian and Australian publication, citation and international collaboration over the period of 3 decades. Furthermore, he pointed to the presence of excellent Iranian researchers and scholars and their knowledge contribution to Macquarie University and expressed the strong interest of Macquarie University to collaborate with TUMS.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Kheradmand and Dr. Paul Schreier for further collaboration between the two universities.

After the meeting, the Macquarie team visited TUMS core facility and Tehran Heart Center in order to examine the key points for more collaborations.
