Tehran University of Medical Sciences Shines in 2024 Shanghai Rankings

Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) has once again demonstrated its academic excellence in the 2024 Shanghai Subject Rankings, standing out as the only Iranian university in the field of Dentistry and achieving top national ranks in multiple disciplines.

As reported by Sina News Agency, the latest results show that Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) has demonstrated remarkable performance on the global academic stage for the eighth consecutive year. The 2024 Shanghai Subject Rankings assess universities across 55 subjects within five main areas: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences.

More than 5,000 universities from 96 countries participated in the rankings, with over 1,900 making the final list, including 29 Iranian universities across 120 subjects. TUMS achieved a rank of 201-300 in Dentistry, making it the only Iranian university in this field globally. In Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, TUMS climbed 150 places compared to the 2023 rankings, securing the top spot in Iran and a rank of 51-75 worldwide.

In Clinical Medicine, TUMS improved by 200 places from the previous edition, achieving a rank of 201-300 and topping the national list. In Public Health, TUMS rose 100 places from the 2023 edition, earning a rank of 151-200 globally. In Nursing, TUMS achieved a rank of 151-200, leading the nation. TUMS also secured a rank of 201-300 in Biology and 301-400 in Environmental Engineering among the universities listed in the 2024 rankings.
