The Associate Professor of Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Tehran University of Medical Sciences earned the International Visiting Research Scholar from Peter Wall Institute of British Columbia, Canada.

Dr. Mansoor Nia stated: Peter Wall Institute is one of the major Research Centers in this university and it attends to have annual 15000 Dollars International Visiting Research Scholar Award, to ten scientists and elite researchers from all around the world, and selected researchers will spend a 3-months program in the British Columbia University.
The Associate Professor of Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Tehran University of Medical Sciences earned the International Visiting Research Scholar from Peter Wall Institute of British Columbia, Canada.

He also explained: “Two faculty members from British Columbia, from two different departments, must introduce the researcher for the award, and in a proposal describe the significance of their nominee and his impact on the expert fields, his schedule, and his research proposal in the British Columbia.”

He also emphasized that: “ In 2019-2020, the name of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, is among the names of the American, British, Australian, and other significant universities, for this award.”

“ Dr. Mahyar Etminan from the Ophtamology and Dr. Mohsen Sadat Safavi, from Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, of British Columbia University, nominated me for this award.” He said.

He also mentioned his joint researches and papers about “Casual Interface” with these two faculty members and hoped that this award will be the beginning of new cooperations.

He also described the British Columbia in 50 best universities in the world and one of the three major universities in Canada and said: “ However, this university is new to the topic of “Casual Interface”, and this project aims to expand their activities in this field.”

Dr. Mansoor Nia, the Associate Professor in Tehran University of Medical Sciences, emphasized his gratitude and explained: “ I’m very honored that I have the opportunity, to export my knowledge as a faculty member of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and work among great researchers and professors from Stanford, Michigan, and Oxford universities.”

In the end, he talked about his collaboration with Dr. Goodarz Danaei, a professor from Harvard University, to hold the first workshop of “Casual Interface” in Iran, in 2012; and this fact that Tehran University of Medical Sciences has this topic as a course for Epidemiology and Biostatistics students from different universities.

Dr. Mansoornia will spend 3 months, from September 2019 to May 2020, in British Columbia University to visit related departments, engage in science programs and journal clubs and establish the CAUSIER group in Peter Wall Institute.
