Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University Aim for Enhanced Collaboration
On November 29, 2024, Marketing Manager Dr. Hanafi Bojd and Cultural Attaché Mr. Hossein Aghazadeh, convened with Mr. Kuanysh Karibaev, International Director of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in scientific and educational initiatives between the two esteemed institutions.
During the meeting, the International Director warmly welcomed the TUMS delegation and reiterated Asfendiyarov University’s commitment to fostering international cooperation with scientific centers across the globe. He expressed a strong interest in developing interactions and exchanges with Iran.
Mr. Hossein Aghazadeh emphasized the significance of scientific and educational partnerships between Iran and Kazakhstan, highlighting the readiness to initiate faculty and student exchanges as well as specialized courses. He also noted TUMS's esteemed position as a leading scientific institution in Iran, recognized for its robust global ranking.
Dr. Hanafi Bejd conveyed appreciation for the fruitful discussions and illustrated TUMS's capacity to host over 2,000 international students from various regions, including Asia, Africa, America, and Oceania. He reaffirmed the university’s eagerness to engage in academic staff exchanges and offer diverse courses.
“We are excited about the prospective collaborations that will arise from our discussions today,” stated Dr. Hanafi Bojd.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to facilitate staff exchanges between TUMS and Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University in the near future, alongside plans to review and implement collaborative areas.
This important meeting followed TUMS’s inaugural participation in the Kazakhstan International Higher Education Exhibition, where the university showcased its commitment to expanding its international reach.
