Prof. Victor Millet, Vice-President for Foreign Affairs and Internationalization, University of Santiago de Compostela met with Chancellor, Dr. Jafarian and paid a landmark visit to Schools of Dentistry and Nursing and Midwifery on December 8,2013, to evaluate the competency for mutual cooperation.
Vice-President for Foreign Affairs and Internationalization, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain visited Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS).

Following the invitation of TUMS, Prof. Victor Millet, Vice-President for Foreign Affairs and Internationalization, University of Santiago de Compostela met with Chancellor, Dr. Jafarian and paid a landmark visit to Schools of Dentistry and Nursing and Midwifery on December 8, 2013, to evaluate the competency for mutual cooperation.

Prof. Millet had opportunity to meet with the Dean of the School of Dentistry and authorities of the departments, figuring out initial potentials. In his visit to the School, first of all, Dr. Khami, Vice Dean for International Affairs, welcomed him and pointed to the potentials in addition to activities carrying out. He added that the School with 126 academic staff, 12 departments, 819 students, 260 dental units and 4 hospital wards plays the role of the 1st comprehensive center for Dental Care in the country. Dr. Khami expressed School's willingness to have international students and noted that at the moment they have 5 international students and also 20 coming to School for education in near future.

Hearing his points, Prof. Millet appreciated the features and declared that contrary to TUMS, there are below 100 students, just 25 dental units at the University of Santiago de Compostela and emphasized as the Vice-President for Foreign Affairs and Internationalization to follow up the establishment scientific cooperation in this regard.

In the following visit, Prof. Salsali, Vice Dean for International Affairs, School of Nursing and Midwifery met with Prof. Millet, gave a brief history of the potentials of the School and accompanied him on his visit to the departments. Prof. Salsali pointed out to the foreign students both in postgraduate and undergraduate levels at the School and explained about the Joint Degree programs, Developing Collaborative Research Projects, Designing Internal & Abroad Short Term Courses and Scientific Collaborations with ICN and EMRO-WHO. Prof. Millet also engaged in talk with the authorities of the departments discussing initial potentials of each.

Following his visit to TUMS, he had also opportunity to meet with Dr. Jafarian, Chancellor and Dr. Kheradmand, Vice Chancellor for International Affairs and Global Strategies. Dr. Jafarian presented TUMS as the oldest and the most outstanding medical center, and the symbol of higher education in the IR Iran which accepts applications from the most qualified and top graduates, considering 2% of the acceptance reserved for overseas students. The Chancellor pointed to the university vision for Internationalization as of the core competencies, seeking admissions to postgraduates’ Programs.

At the end of the meeting, Prof Millet thanked the audiences for hospitality and revealed his surprise on research and medical activities fundamentally carrying out at TUMS. He mentioned that University of Santiago de Compostela with a history spanning more than 500 years and one of the region's oldest universities favors the establishments of relations with other universities.

The University located in Santiago de Compostela city with just hundred thousand and tourist attraction receiving more than 700 thousand visitors every year.
