TUMS and UAEM Initiate New Collaboration

On January 26, 2015, a number of officials at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) including Vice Chancellors for Research, for Global Strategies and International Affairs, Director of International affairs and Development and the Advisor of Vice Chancellor for Education met University Officials of Autónoma del Estado of Mexico (UAEM).
TUMS and UAEM Initiate New Collaboration

In a meeting held at the convention hall of TUMS main Building, Dr. Arabkheradmand, TUMS Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs, briefly introduced the university. He also explained about Education Iran Project and TUMS Ranking System. TUMS is accredited by Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC), he added.

Dr. Younesian, TUMS Vice Chancellor for Research, spoke of research production and activities of TUMS and also pointed out that TUMS achieved H-Index 3rd place in the region.

Director of International Affairs and Development, Dr. Shabani explained the admission of international students saying that 203 foreign students have been admitted by TUMS office of Vice Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs, so far.

At the end of the meeting, Yolanda E. Ballesteros Sentíes, Director of the Secretary for International Cooperation at UAEM appreciated the capabilities and potentials of TUMS, and said that universities have a lot in common in their ongoing activities and expressed hopes that a suitable context is developed for collaboration and for sharing international experiences. Finally she declared that UAEM is ready to collaborate with TUMS in research and scientific fields.

Moreover, the Mexican delegation paid a visit to different departments of TUMS Schools of Medicine and Dentistry and met Deans and Vice Deans of the two schools. Being briefed about the above-mentioned TUMS schools, Mexican officials showed interest in exchange of students and faculty members and holding short courses. As a result, the universities signed an MoU of mutual academic collaborations.
