According to the public relations report of School of Public Health of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), the first session of the international workshop of IraN European PArtnership for Capacity-building and Teaching in Global Health (INPACT), with the presence of three domestic universities/institutes (TUMS School of Public Health of as Moderator, Kerman University of Medical Sciences and National Health Research Institute as partners) and three European universities (Maastricht University in the Netherlands as the main European partner, Heidelberg in Germany, and Tampere in Finland) with the title "Designing a training course and empowering global health with the aim of countries "Eastern Mediterranean Region" was held virtually and with the participation of 40 selected professors from universities across the country on April 25, 2022, hosted by the TUMS School of Public Health.

 

This large international project, with the financial support of the European Union and with the focus of the global health group and public policy of the School of Public  Health, has been ongoing since two years ago; It consists of five main packages, the implementation of which began with the educational needs assessment for global health in the target area, and it is hoped that after the curriculum design and content development stages, by 2023, the global health field at the master's level will be launched and established and the health excellence center will be opened. held at the TUMS School of Public Health.

 

In this workshop, at the beginning of the second package of this project, entitled "Development of the global health curriculum in a problem-oriented manner", it is planned that with the participation of non-Iranian colleagues, the needs identified in the previous stage will be transformed into an educational curriculum that will create a unique experience. For Iran, in terms of curriculum writing, this knowledge capacity will be transferred to the country for similar activities.

 

Explanation that the second virtual session of the workshop will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, and the face-to-face workshop will be held in Tehran for 3 days from May 15 to May 17, hosted by the TUMS School of Public Health.
