Many countries in the world have started to use the capabilities of traditional medicine alongside conventional medicine. Countries that have created an integrated and well-planned system from the integration of traditional and modern medicine, have taken various measures in the field of traditional medicine entry in the national health program, creating advanced standards of traditional and complementary medicine, strengthening the research capacity in traditional medicine and sharing information to improve decision-making to expand health insurance to cover services based on clinical evidence, effectiveness, and cost effectiveness.
In countries like China that follow this system, modern medicine and traditional and complementary medicine are managed by higher administrative organizations, and integrated health systems have the most support in traditional and complementary medicine, and completely transparent rules and regulations for it has been established; and in government hospitals, traditional medicine is used alongside modern medicine in providing services, and in India there are many traditional medicine hospitals due to the large population in the entire country.
The upcoming conference has been organized by the efforts of the Office of Persian and Complementary Medicine at the Iranian Ministry of Health to create a dialogue with countries with experience in this field, so that by examining the strengths of the leading countries, efforts will be made to eliminate the weaknesses of planning and management in this field. It will be a turning point to accelerate the integration of traditional medicine teachings in the health system.
