Short Biography

I have worked as a Unit Head for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine under Integrated health Service department (IHS), UHL division, WHO HQ in Geneva since Feb. 2023

Before that, I had worked as a Regional Advisor for Traditional Medicine, WHO South-East Asia Regional Office in New Delhi, India from July 2013 until Feb. 2023. Before joining to the WHO South East Asia Regional office, I worked as a National Professional Officer (NPO) at the WHO country office to DPR Korea between 2003 and 2013.

I have a doctor degree of biomedicine and traditional Chinese medicine (so called “Oriental Medicine”) together with Master’s degree of Public Health degree and 10 years working experience at the National Academy of Korean Traditional Medicine (Koryo Medicine) Science, before joining to the WHO.

My main expertise covers TM research, TM policy and regulatory system development and its integration into health system and service delivery including M&E for TM system performance, integrated clinical practice guideline development and others.
