Ayeh Naghizadeh, a specialist in the field of Persian medicine, has dedicated her career to advancing the understanding and application of this ancient medical system. Born and raised in Iran, Naghizadeh pursued a medical degree, laying the foundation for her future research. Recognizing the rich heritage of Persian Medicine, she sought to delve deeper into its principles and practices. In 2016, she was accepted into the PhD program in Persian Medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Her dissertation, a groundbreaking work on creating an ontology-based knowledge base of Persian medicine materia medica, drew upon the renowned encyclopedia "Makhzan al-Advieh." This research marked a significant contribution to the standardization and preservation of Persian Medicine knowledge. Naghizadeh's academic pursuits were complemented by her practical experience. She served as a technical official in the international department of the Office of Persian and Complementary Medicine in the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran, where she played a pivotal role in promoting Persian Medicine globally. Her work involved fostering international collaborations, disseminating research findings, and advocating for the integration of Persian Medicine into the healthcare system. Naghizadeh's commitment to research has led to the publication of over 25 articles and book chapters in the field of Persian Medicine. Her contributions have shed light on various aspects of this ancient healing system, from its theoretical foundations to its clinical applications. Currently, Naghizadeh serves as a member of the international committee of Persian Medicine, where she continues to advocate for the advancement of Persian Medicine on a global scale. Her expertise and dedication have made her a regarded figure in the field, and her work has paved the way for future generations of researchers and practitioners.
