Professional Biography:

Prof. Jean Dupouy-Camet is Emeritus Professor of Medical Parasitology & Mycology in Paris Descartes University and he was head of the department of Parasitology- Mycology of Cochin Hospital (Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris, France). He holds a MD (general practice), a specialization in Tropical medicine, a degree in Medical Mycology (Institut Pasteur, Paris) and a PhD in Parasitology, all obtained in Paris University. 
He is past president of the International Commission on Trichinellosis, past general secretary of the French Society of Parasitology and past President of the European Federation of Parasitologists. 

He has published more than 200 scientific papers (165 in Medline) in the field of various aspects of parasitology, molecular aspects of parasitology (PCR, sequencing, identification), tropical medicine, medical mycology, trichinellosis, diphyllobothriosis, toxoplasmosis… He coordinated two books "La trichinellose, une zoonose en évolution" with Claude Soulé, OIE ed. and “Guidelines for the surveillance, management, prevention and control of trichinellosis” with Darwin Murrell, FAO,OIE, WHO eds and wrote chapters (trichinellosis, diphyllobothriosis, ocular toxoplasmosis) for several books. 

He received in August 2008 and July 2016, the Medal of the European Federation of Parasitologists and in August 2014 the "Distinguished Achievement Award" of the World Federation of Parasitologists. 

On May 26, 2015 Prof. Dupouy-Camet was presented with the TUMS Distinguished Visiting Professor Title by Head of Department of Parasitology, School of Public Health. Since then, his contribution to TUMS has countined for duration of eight years.

Prof. Dupouy-Camet had a Meeting with TUMS President (Prof. Larijani) in 2009. After that, He took participate in NICOPA 2013 (Congress of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases of IRAN) and NICOPA 2015.

In 2015, During his stay in IRAN, he met the officials of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and engaged in discussions concerning medical sciences collaborations between Iran and France with Dr. Nekoofar, TUMS Director of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking. He also visited official of Department of Parasitology (Prof. MG Mowlavi, Prof. M Rokni) in 2015.
