The Residency Program of Neurology is a four-year training for qualified GPs who have passed the enterance examination. The residents will visit the patients in hospital wards, emergency departments and outpatient clinics.

 

 

Program Description: 

The Residency Program of Neurology is a four-year training for qualified GPs who have passed the enterance examination. The residents will visit the patients in hospital wards, emergency departments and outpatient clinics. Their trainig will cover diagnosis and management of different neurological diseases both in elective and emergency conditions. Residents will play their roles as physicians and consultants, and they will be involved in the primary and secondry prevention of neurological disease

Objectives:

  • Training physicians to provide excellent patient care and management, both for admitted and outpatients;
  • Enhancing medical knowledge about diagnosis and management of patients and providing knowledge regarding the etiology and pathophysiology of neurological diseases; 
  • Improving interpersonal and communication skills that result in the effective exchange of information and collaboration with patients, their families, and other health professionals; and,
  • Expanding professionalism as manifested through a commitment to carry out professional responsibilities, and adhere to ethical principles in research, education and treatment.

Course Duration: 4 years

Admission Requirements

General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.

Specific Requiremetns: Degree in General Physicians (M.D) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) by one of the Iranian or foreign universities.

The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved general physician program and should be proficient in English or Persian.

Admission Deadline

Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.

However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
