Program Description:
Over 30 years since the establishment of community medicine educational program in Iran and its first revision in the nineties and due to changes of the community health needs up to the present, the curriculum should be revised. Since 2004-2005, a group of the program experts proceeded to develop a relatively comprehensive program supervised by Medical Education Council Secretariat using different curricula in the world, benefiting from expert opinion and considering the circumstances of the country. This curriculum was reviewed frequently in expert meetings, the discipline steering committee, development and educational planning committee and commission of Medical Education Council Secretariat. Finally it was approved by permanent commission of and announced to educational departments and universities of medical sciences that run residency programs in this field.

Duration:
Duration of the Training Program is 3 years.
Admission Requirements
General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.
Specific Requiremetns: Degree in General Physicians (M.D) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) by one of the Iranian or foreign universities.
The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved general physician program and should be proficient in English or Persian.
Admission Deadline
Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.
However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
