Brief Overview

Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Research Center established in 2001. The first project was a cell therapy in regeneration of the brain and spinal cord injuries that carried out by some of our distinguished professors in Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The project initiated its clinical trial after being approved in animal studies. As a result of the outstanding outcomes of this therapeutic method, the foundation of Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Research, Neuroscience Institute, was proposed in 2005. After one year, the center confirmed by research council of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and initiated its service and activity in 2006. Now, the center has vanous active groups in education, research and therapeutic fields.

Mission

Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Research Center intends to iinprove the society's health. We are expecting to explore the mechanism of cellular and 1nolecular, structural and functional disturbance of the SCI, Glioblasto1na multiform tumor and related brain disorders. Furthermore, we focus on identifying new therapeutical and alleviating methods to overcome the observed dysfunctions in brain and spinal cord injuries. Vision Statement: We aim to develop research in every aspect of reconstruction of brain and spinal cord injuries to achieve higher positions as an authenticated research center in the region and country.
