The 'Knowledge Utilization Research Center' began its work in 2006 under the title of the 'KTE Study Group' in the 'Center of Academic and Health Policy' of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. In 2008 it was approved as a research center by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. It was recognized as a center of excellence for 'Evidence-Based Decision Making', and this improved its organizational capacity for performing its tasks. |

Mission |
The 'Knowledge Utilization Research Center' aims to produce knowledge, localize it, and promote strategic directions, modalities and efforts that lead to the better utilization of knowledge. The goal of this center is to change health decision makers' (people, health service providers, managers and policy makers) behavior, to make evidence-informed decisions, and to create an enabling environment. |
Vision |
It is a source of pride for me to say on behalf of all my colleagues at KURC that we have crucial guiding principles, which are as follows: Orientation-wise: We are responsive to public's health challenges, with a focus on the outcome and impact of our work. Our center is not merely bent on publishing papers; we think that knowledge is a social construct that must be produced and used through a deliberative process. Process-wise: We are accountable about the responsibilities assigned to us and the time and resources, all come from public assets. We do our best to ensure that no one is left behind; we are seriously committed to equity in the entire work environment, strategic direction and subject of study. This center does not belong to anyone in particular. It belongs to everyone who respects and believes in KURC's mission and guiding principles, regardless of their organizational ties and their place of residence. This is why we are committed to "Moving Together", and welcome you on board as well. |
