Dr. Amirhossein Takian, Professor and Founding Director of the Centre of Excellence for Global Health at TUMS, highlighted several critical challenges affecting the country's pharmaceutical system during the conclusion of the first panel at the End-of-Year Drug Conference:

1. Conflict of interest within the Food and Drug Administration

2. Disorder in the decision-making system related to medicine and health

3. Institutional stagnation

4. Instability and unpredictability of the national market

5. Currency volatility

6. Lack of coordination and harmony
