At the symposium on “Climate Change and Health,” hosted by the Center of Excellence for Global Health at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Ms. Ayna Seyitliyeva, the UNFPA Representative in Iran, highlighted the increasing vulnerability of women and girls in the face of climate change. She emphasized, “Rising temperatures, drought, and environmental crises pose greater threats to the health of mothers and newborns than ever before.” She further stated that specific support for women and girls should be at the core of future climate policy-making.
