The Necessity of Intersectoral Collaboration for Women’s Health in a Changing Climate
Ms. Aina Sitliwa, representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Iran, in concluding her remarks at the International Symposium on Climate Change and Health, identified “synergy and collaboration among government, academia, and civil society” as the key solution to addressing the women’s health crisis. She added: “Without the engagement of all sectors and the utilization of scientific evidence and gender-responsive approaches, it will be impossible to successfully mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.”
