The 2025 Lancet Countdown Report on Health and Climate Change: Implications for Iran
According to the Public Relations Office of the Center of Excellence for Global Health (CEGH), Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), the International Symposium on Health and Climate Change, titled “The 2025 Lancet Countdown Report on Health and Climate Change: Implications for Iran”, will be held on Monday, 25 November 2025 at Persepolis Hall, Global Health Panopticon Building, Tehran.
The symposium will bring together senior authors of the Lancet Countdown 2025 report, leading international and national experts in health, environment, economics, and health policy, as well as key decision-makers from academia and public health sectors. Participants will explore the implications of climate change for national and regional health systems, focusing on adaptation strategies and resilience building in the face of growing environmental challenges.
The scientific discussions will also outline the key findings of the Lancet Countdown 2025, addressing the wide-ranging health risks and impacts of global warming and climate change, with a particular emphasis on their relevance for Iran.
Key themes include:
- Climate-related health risks, exposures, and outcomes
- Adaptation, planning, resilience, and mitigation actions
