Iran: A Resonant Voice in the Global Dialogue on Climate Change, Migration, and Health

An article co‑authored by Dr. Amirhossein Takian, Professor of Health Policy and Founding Director of the Center of Excellence for Global Health (CEGH) at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), has been published in the prestigious journal The Lancet Regional Health – Europe.

This analytical study examines the multifaceted interconnections between climate change, human mobility, and public health, highlighting the need for evidence‑based, equity‑driven, and multisectoral responses in global health policymaking.

The paper forms part of The Lancet’s Special Climate Change Project, which will culminate in a dedicated issue in 2026, showcasing countries’ experiences and perspectives contributed by leading international scholars.

Dr. Takian serves as the Lead of Working Group 3 and as one of the appointed Commissioners for this global Lancet initiative.
