The first series of educational workshops at the research school has ended

Organized by the Global Health and Public Policy Department, in cooperation with the Deputy of Research in the School of Public Health, the Department of Health Management, Policy and Economics, the Health Equity Research Center, and the Think Tank of Good Governance for Health, this series concluded its work. These workshops, planned interactively with the aim of teaching different stages of research, started on November 13, 2023, and continued as monthly sessions until June 12, 2024. The participants included interested individuals and students from undergraduate, master’s, specialized doctorate, and public health fellowship courses, etc.

The topics discussed in each meeting of the research school included the following:

  1. Choosing a title for the thesis
  2. Statement of the problem, objectives, hypotheses, and research questions
  3. Literature review and methods of searching related articles
  4. Developing a conceptual framework
  5. When to conduct a quantitative study and when to conduct a qualitative study
  6. Choosing the study methodology
  7. Important points in interviews or gathering information
  8. extract an article from the thesis

Facilitated by two faculty members, in each of the eight meetings, four students or recent graduates shared their experiences on the presented topics. Following these presentations, participants discussed their questions, doubts, and challenges. The facilitator professors also guided and answered the attendees’ questions during the sessions.

The research school will present its programs with a different approach in the new academic year.
