Professional Biography:
Prof. Ibrahim Ethem Gecim Born and grown in Ankara. He has MD degree from Ankara University Medical School. He is General Surgery training in Ankara and Royal Liverpool University Hospitals, UK. He got Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship, Class of 1997, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He Pionered MI Colorectal Surgery in his country.
Prof. Gecim is Full Professor in Ankara university Medical School. He is Diplomated and Examiner of EBSQ in General Surgery and Coloproctology. He is Past president of the Turkish and European Society of Coloproctology.

On May, 2021 Prof. Gecim was presented with the TUMS Distinguished Visiting Professor Title for the duration of 2021-2024 by Head of Surgery Department of TUMS Imam Khomeini Hospital.
