Professional Biography:
Prof. Venkatesh Babu is a teaching faculty in Division of Clinical Dentistry and Head, Dental Skill Centre, School of Dentistry, International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has over 11 years of academic and research experience. He is the recipient of the “Young achiever award” in 2016 from Conservative and Endodontic Association of Tamilnadu and the “Young investigator award – Research & Publication (Individual category)” in 2019 from International Medical University. He is a prolific researcher who has 73 publications in reputed journals and has co-authored a chapter in the text book titled ’Nanobiomaterials in dentistry’. He currently serves as an Editorial member for the International Endodontic Journal. He is one of the project leader for developing reporting guidelines for various study designs in Endodontics, titled; “Preferred Reporting Items for study Designs in Endodontology (PRIDE)”. His area of research interests is in antimicrobial peptides/ nano-formulations for root canal disinfections and evidence-based dentistry.
On June, 2020 Prof. Venkateshbabu was presented with the TUMS Distinguished Visiting Professor Title for the duration of 2020-2023 by Endodontics department of TUMS School of Dentistry.
