The webinar entitled: “Publication Challenges and Ethical Issues During the COVID-19”, which was organized and planned under the Appraise to Raise program of the TUMS Directorate of International Relations, was held on September 4th, 2020

This webinar was held with the participation of speakers from Iran and other countries, focusing on the challenges of writing and publishing articles in prestigious journals and Ethical considerations during the Corona period. The webinar, which was held online and live, was well received by a large number of domestic and foreign participants, with 214 people watching the webinar live.

In this webinar, Dr. Edward C. Benzel, Emeritus Chairman of Neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic, delivered a speech entitled: “Writing a Neurosurgical Manuscript: Style, Quality, and Doing. What’s Right?” provided comprehensive explanations about the style and quality of writing articles related to neurosurgery.

The other speaker was Dr. Zahid Hussain Khan, a senior professor at TUMS in the field of anesthesia and the Director of the Neuroanesthesiology Fellowship Program, in his speech entitled “Fast Tracked Publications & Ethical Concerns in the COVID Era”

spoke about concerns regarding publishing articles and ethical issues during the Corona era.

Other topic covered in this webinar was about the method of writing article abstracts and how to present virtual conferences, which was presented by Dr. Andrei V. Alexandrov, a professor at UTHSC.

Also Dr. Javadi, a Neurosurgeon and Director of the Neurology Residency Program at Imam Khomeini Hospital, Dr. Mortazavi, Director and Founder of the California Institute of Neuroscience, and Dr. Shane Tubbs, Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Louisiana, respectively lectured on the scientific index of articles, the emergence of interactive conversations, and ways to increase the likelihood of articles being published.
