The third and last part of the 5th Congress of the Iranian Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists, hosted by Tehran University of Medical Sciences, was held live on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

In this session, which was the last session of this Congress and was held virtually with the presence of Iranian and foreign speakers in three panels, many participants from Iran and other countries viewed the lectures of the lecturers live.

The speakers of these three panels were Dr. Merva Soluk Tekkes from Turkey, Dr. Pieter J. Slootweg from the Netherlands, Dr. Farid Azmoudeh Arjmand, Dr. Hana Saffar and Dr. Neda Khuzestani from Iran.

In the first panel of the session, Dr. Merva Soluk Tekkes spoke about Odontogenic tumors and cysts.

The topic of the second panel was “Diseases of the jaw bones; are they all neoplastic?” presented by Dr. Pieter J. Slootweg from the Netherlands. In his lecture, he spoke about jaw diseases.

In the last panel dedicated to salivary gland problems, Dr. Pieter J. Slootweg spoke about salivary gland lesions and Dr. Farid Azmoudeh Arjmand, Dr. Hana Saffar and Dr. Neda Khuzestani jointly spoke about salivary gland tumors.

The speakers also answered the questions of the participants at the end of each panel.

It should be noted that more than 650 people from 43 countries registered to participate in this virtual congress, which was held under the Appraise to Raise project.

The Appraise to Raise project is one of the new programs of the TUMS Directorate of International Relations after the Corona epidemic, designed with the approach of developing virtual academic activities and gaining new experiences in the field of internationalization.
