A Six-Day Virtual Training Program Entitled ‘An Introduction to Evidence-Based Dentistry’ Was Virtually Held by TUMS

The program was conducted one day a week from November 18 to December 24 with the participation of three of TUMS faculty members and four international academics from Norway, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.

 

During this course, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Nakoofar, Dr. Ahmad Reza Shamshiri and Dr. Mohammad Reza Khami from the TUMS School of Dentistry, Professor Jorma Virtanen from Bergen University of Norway, Professor Sadika Khan from Western Cape University of South Africa, Dr. Nagendrababu Venkateshbabu from Sharjah University of UAE and Dr. Pulikkotil Shaju Jacob from International Medical University of Malaysia presented a variety of evidence-based dentistry topics.

 

Also, different stages of evidence-based practice, appropriate question design, evidence search, critical evaluation of scientific articles, and interpretation and application of evidence were taught in different sessions of this program.

 

This International Virtual program was designed by Dr. Mohammad Reza Khami of the TUMS Department of Community Oral Health, and moderated by Dr. Fariba Motevaselian and Dr. Hossein Hesari.

 

It is worth noting that in this six-day program, a total of 475 people from 27 countries registered for the six panels, with Nigeria, India and Iran having the highest number of people with 134, 120 and 75, respectively.
