An International TUMS Online Short Course on Head and Neck Lesions was held by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, with the presence of internationally well-known professors in February 2021.

This program was conducted with the cooperation of the Appraise To Raise Team at TUMS Directorate of International Relations, from Sunday Feb. 21 to Monday Mar. 1, 2021 in four sessions, and contained 13 panels.

According to the public relations of School of Dentistry of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the International Short Course of Head and Neck Lesions, was held virtually by Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Department, the cooperation of Dr. Nazanin Mahdavi, Dr. Samira Derakhshan, Dr. Neda Kordoni , Dr. Pouyan Amini Shakib, the invaluable presence of professors of TUMS Cancer Institute, Dr. Farid Azmoudeh Ardalan and Dr. Hana Saffar and the Asia Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Association (ASOMP) and well-known international experts and the support of TUMS Directorate of International Relations.

This Online Short Course held in four days, two days a week (Sundays and Mondays) for 13 hours, starting from Sunday February 21st 2021.

Prof. Dr. Brad Neville from the United States of America, the author of the book entitled “Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology” which is one of the reference books of pathology in general and specialized courses in this field of studies, alongside of Prof. Dr. Edward Odell from England who is the current president of the International Association of Oral Pathologists, gave lectures on the first day of this online training course.

Professors Dr. EL-Neggar, Slootweg, Tilakaratne, Ranganathan and Bouquot also participated on different days of this online short course and gave excellent lectures.

During this four-day course, the main important topics in the field of head and neck lesions, including Odontogenic Cysts and Tumors, Soft Tissue Tumors, Salivary Glands Pathologies and Epithelial Lesions, were discussed within lectures and case presentations.

This program was organized by the short-term courses of TUMS International Campus with the support of the Appraise To Raise team in TUMS Directorate of International Relations.
