Skill Lab
The SKILL LAB of the International Campus_ School of Medicine was primarily established to hold standard practical workshops to train the students of General Medicine at Baharloo Hospital. And many students have been taught the clinical and practical skills of medicine in this department so far.
The educational department of this center includes one classroom and five classes specified for team working.
There are all educational facilities; including all manikins and medical equipment required for all the educational phases of the general medicine course in this center.
All rooms are equipped with audio-visual and computerized features and they have the capability to can workshops, with the capacity of small to middle groups. As well many theoretical and OSCE exams have been held very well in this center several times so far and it is also applicable.
There are different types of manikins such as advanced and introductory resuscitation manikins; Catheterization; NGT; ABG; LP; Injections; Obstetrics and Gynecology; preliminary examinations; Orthopedic moulage in this center.
History of the International Campus skill lab
The Skill lab of the International Campus of Medical School started operating in September 2010 (2010/09/29). Skill lab was established from the beginning with the aim of holding standard practical workshops related to the education of general medicine students at Baharloo Hospital. Many students at this center have been trained in practical and clinical medical skills So far.
At first, all physiopathology classes, practical pathology classes, theoretical and Osce exams, clinical semiology, and resuscitation skills workshops have been established in this center. After constructing and equipping the amphitheater and laboratory of Pardis Medical School, physiopathology and pathology classes were moved to that place in 2011. Other activities, in addition to all trainee and internship workshops for students of Baharloo and Ziaiane Hospital, were performed in this center.
The educational part of this center includes a classroom and 5 rooms for working groups.
All educational facilities, including all mannequins and medical equipment required for all general medicine courses, are available in this center. All rooms are equipped with audio-visual and computer facilities and have the ability to hold classes and practical workshops for small to medium groups. Also, theoretical and Osce exams have been held and implemented in this center many times so far.
The General objectives of the skill lab:
- Holding all the necessary practical workshops to teach the clinical skills of all medical students in the trainee, internship, and also some residential workshops.
- Holding practical-educational workshops for retraining nursing and midwifery staff working in Baharloo and Ziaian hospitals.
- Holding Osce exams for physiopathology, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, geriatrics, family medicine, and other groups.
