Dr. Maryam Sarraf Yazdy

Dr. Maryam Sarraf Yazdy is a board-certified medical hematologist/oncologist at U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Dr. Sarraf Yazdy graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Thran, Iran and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. She also completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

Dr. Sarraf Yazdy joined the faculty at Georgetown University Hospital as an Assistant Professor of medicine, Division of Hematology Oncology where she cared for adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and lymphomas. During her fellowship and faculty career at Georgetown, Dr. Sarraf Yazdy wrote protocols for investigator-initiated trials in patients with CLL/lymphomas and was principal investigator of multiple therapeutic and non-therapeutic studies including trials of novel treatment platforms for CLL/lymphoma, minimal residual disease (MRD) evaluation in patients with follicular lymphoma in long-term remission and several multi-institutional projects. She has authored or co-authored several publications and has presented posters at American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and International Conference On Malignant Lymphoma (ICML) meetings. In March 2020, she joined the FDA as a clinical reviewer in the lymphoma team at Division of Hematologic Malignancies II. In her role at a clinical reviewer, she has been responsible for the review and regulatory oversight of several Investigational New Drug (IND) and New Drug Applications (NDA). Dr. Sarraf Yazdy is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH).
