Department of Medical Education

Introduction: The Department of Medical Education of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services established in 2006. Students has been applied in the department in the master's degree program in medical education.  The virtual master's course was launched in 2007.  This course was the first virtual course using e-learning management system, DLN, in the country.  At present, the Department of Medical Education is located in the building of the Vice Chancellor for Education of Tehran University of Medical Sciences on Hojjatdoost Street.

Mission: The department of Medical Education of TUMS aims to train graduates by selecting and inviting talented faculty members and experts interested in the complex issues of medical education in today's fast-paced world. They must be able to identify educational problems through appropriate research, provide logical and measurable solutions to educational problems, assist in the planning and management of educational problems in medical universities, and convey appropriate technologies and teaching methods.   As well as, being able to play a role in improving the situation of medical universities in the country by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of universities and recognizing the factors of progress and development of world universities.

Perspective: The Department of Medical Education of Tehran University of Medical Sciences intends to become the scientific pole of education and research in the field of medical education in the country and the region.
