Razi Research Festival of Medical Sciences, Iran's most significant national research festival in various fields of medical sciences, convened for the 21st time on January 18, 2015.
TUMS Hailed as the Top Tier 1 University of Medical Sciences

 

The 21st Razi Research Festival of Medical Sciences, which saw the presence of Iranian Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, Dr. Hashemi, as well as various university chancellors, notable faculty members, and lead Iranian researchers, was held on January 18, 2015, for its 21st annual session.

 

During this congregation, various issues and subjects related to different fields of medical sciences, namely, the status of academic citations for Iranian scholars; the number of medical articles by Iranian researchers; scientific medical breakthroughs and medical treatment milestones by Iranian healthcare professionals; macro treatment and healthcare policies; Iran's position amongst its neighbors regarding academic advances and progress; ethics in academic and clinical practices; future research opportunities for Iranian scholars at home and overseas; and resources regarding medical equipment and instruments were discussed.

 

Moreover, following a yearly tradition, a part of this conference was allocated to praising top institutes and communities of higher education in medical sciences. This year, Tehran University of Medical Sciences came out on top amongst all Tier 1 Iranian universities of medical sciences; Pasteur Institute of Iran claimed the 1st rank in Tier 2 higher education institutes; and Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences was recognized as the frontrunner of Tier 3 universities of medical sciences.

 

Also, four of this year's six chosen research centers were affiliated with TUMS namely, the Digestive Diseases Research Center, the Nanotechnology Research Center, the Non-Communicable Diseases Research Center, and the Psychiatry and Psychology Research Center.
