This center was selected as the hub of excellence in pediatrics in 2008 by ministry of health and medical education. Children’s medical center was founded in 1968 thanks to Dr.Hassan Ahari, and Dr Mohammad Qarib’s efforts, previously called Dr. Ahari Hospital as a general pediatric center. Now the hospital consists of about 20 specialty and sub-specialty wards, including: emergency, EICU, infectious diseases, hematology, nephrology, hemodialysis, endocrinology, gastrointestinal disease, , endoscopy, neonatology , NICU, PICU , immunology, rheumatology , ,neurology, psychiatry, cardiology , open heart ICU, CICU, respiratory disease, bone marrow transplant ,surgery 1&2 and general ,orthopedic, cardiac , ENT , neurosurgery & urology operation theaters. We have 117 faculty members (63 of them are specialist and subspecialist in pediatric). We have 56 fellowships, 65 pediatric residents (one of them is international student), about 150 interns of pediatrics (3 of them are international students) and 200 medical students in each year. Sixty percent of our staff can speak English fluently. Seven research center are in our hospital including Growth & Development, Pediatric Urology & Regenerative, Asthma & Allergy, Immune Deficiency, Pediatric Digestive & Liver, Pediatric Chronic Kidney Disease and Infectious Disease. Our research centers have several MOUs with other academic centers. Iranian Journal of Pediatrics (IJP) is organized in our center. IJP publish bi-monthly. IJP indexed in ISI, Pub Med, and Scopus. We provide sub-specialty care in out-patient clinics for more than 10000 patients also more than one thousand elective and emergent surgeries are performed in our center including bone marrow transplantation monthly. Also we have fully equipped Para clinic departments like; radiology, CT scan & MRI, laboratory, physiotherapy, dentistry, round the clock pharmacy and many others .The hospital offers 420 registered bed capacity which 80 percent of them are well equipped.Children’s Medical Center is one of the most experienced sub-specialized hospitals in the country that supposed to offer high quality and specialized therapeutic services to neonates, infants and children throughout country and region.
