TUMS Director of International Affairs and Development Visits the Ambassador of Senegal in Iran

In this meeting which was on July 4th, 2016, Dr. Shabani, TUMS Director of International Affairs and development, briefly introduced the university, its different schools and International College and talked about the international activities of the Office of Vice Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs. He stated that a great number of African students are studying at two TUMS schools of Public health and Nursing and Midwifery. Dr. Shabani also explained about the activities of urban and rural Health Centers affiliated with TUMS: ‘Nearly three million people in Southern areas of Tehran are covered by these centers.'

Mr. Babacar, ambassador of Senegal in Iran, expressed Senegal’s interest in collaborations between Iran and Senegal in Medical Sciences field and stated that Cheikh Anta Diop University, also known as the University of Dakar, has a great number of international students and enjoys a significant position among African Universities. He added that a group from this university arrive at Tehran in early August 2016, which is a good opportunity to commence interactions with Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Mr. Babacar mentioned the visit of Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Zarif, to Senegal as an opportunity to increase collaborations between the two countries.
