Dr. Shahin Akhondzadeh, was announced as the first scholar from Iran and the Middle East in the field of Psychiatry in the last report of Essential Science Indicators.
The First Iranian Scholar in the Field of Psychiatry among the Top 1% World Scholars

32 Iranian scholars are among the top 1% world scholars, 19 of which are TUMS faculty members. Every two months, ESI (Essential Science Indicators) introduces medical and non-medical top 1% world scholars.

Dr. Shahin Akhondzadeh, Vice-Dean for Research, School of Medicine and Deputy Vice Minister for Research and Technology, Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, in the latest report of ISI-ESI, was announced among the top 1% World Scholars in the field of psychiatry.

Dr. Akhondzade, a graduate of PharmD from TUMS, obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from Glasgow University, UK and spent his fellowship in French Institute of Health and Medical Research. He has been a TUMS faculty member since 2005 and now is a Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine.
