Following the memorandum of understanding between TUMS, Iran and EMU, Cyprus, EMU delegation visited TUMS Children's Medical Center and the hospital’s authorities to commence the implementation of the MOU.
Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Delegation visits TUMS Children's Medical Center

 

The EMU Delegation visited TUMS Children's Medical Center and the hospital’s authorities on June 25, 2016. In their meeting with the hospital’s authorities, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, School of Medicine, presented an introduction about TUMS and specifically TUMS School of Medicine. Also, he stated that TUMS Children's Medical Center is among the most famous specialized center for children which has various therapeutic and surgical wards with qualified and experienced professors and faculty members. In addition, he mentioned the adequate medical grounds in EMU and stated that it is required to establish connections between basic sciences and clinical trainings in both universities.

 

 

Adviser to the president of the EMU in the medical field introduced the Eastern Mediterranean University as a state university with two affiliated hospitals. He also explained that EMU is holding a joint program with Marmara University in Turkey. According to this joint program, students spend their basic sciences in EMU, and clinical trainings in Marmara University. He stated that EMU is trying to hold such joint programs with TUMS and also, due to low variability patients in Cyprus, EMU is ready to cooperate with universities in other countries to increase exchange of knowledge and experiences for students.

TUMS faculty members were invited to have lectures and workshops in EMU, Cyprus, as well and TUMS expressed its readiness for cooperation in the form of Fellowship and PhD programs.
