The First ISC Winter School on Information Security and Cryptology will be held between 2 February 2020 and 4 February 2020 at Iran University of Science & Technology, Tehran, Iran. In this winter school, we will study symmetric cryptography. The aim of the school is to provide an opportunity for researchers to focus on understanding the security of symmetric cryptographic primitives and spot the emerging new areas. The school consists of several courses as well as technical presentations by keynote speakers and experts. The program will cover the following topics: Introduction to symmetric cryptography and statistical attacks, provable security of symmetric primitives, authenticated encryption and overview of the NIST LWC competition, side-channel attacks and secure implementation of symmetric primitives. The school is designed to be both informative for a wide range of graduate students as well as to present the state of the art and recent results on the subjects they target.
