In the 2025 Times Higher Education World Ranking report, Tehran University of Medical Sciences was placed in the 501-600 range globally and improved its position by climbing 100 places.

In the latest results announced by the Times Higher Education ranking system for 2025, Tehran University of Medical Sciences improved its rank by 100 places. According to the results announced by the Times Institute, Tehran University of Medical Sciences was in the 800-601 rank range for three consecutive years in the 2022, 2023, and 2024 editions of this ranking system, and in the 2025 edition, it succeeded in improving its position to the 600-501 rank range.

Times, in its 2025 edition, ranked more than 2,092 universities based on five criteria: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook. Additionally, 185 academic and scientific centers were added to this list in the new edition.

In the new Times report, Tehran University of Medical Sciences achieved its best position in the teaching index, ranking 132nd among 2,092 universities. Fifty percent of the score for this criterion is determined through self-assessment and the other fifty percent through surveys.

The 2025 Times Higher Education results also indicate that despite a 93-place drop in the research quality index compared to the previous edition, Tehran University of Medical Sciences achieved a 542-place rise in the industry index, a 242-place rise in the research environment index, and a 74-place rise in the international outlook index compared to the 2024 edition.

The seventeen indicators used and reviewed in the Times Higher Education World Ranking system are grouped into five categories: teaching (29.5%), research environment (29%), research quality (30%), industry (4%), and international outlook (7.5%).

It should be noted that part of the data for this ranking system is extracted using information from reputable international scientific databases, and the Times Institute also surveys prominent and reputable professors worldwide to measure the reputation index.
