A New Chapter in Supporting International Students at the School of Nursing and Midwifery

The first welcome and academic briefing session for international students of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Tehran University of Medical Sciences was held on 22 December 2025 in Council Hall No. 1, with the participation of the School’s educational and international affairs officials.

According to the Public Relations Office of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery, the meeting was attended by Dr. Farnaz Farnam, Vice Dean for International Affairs; Dr. Sariyeh Pourtaghi, Vice Dean for Education; Dr. Maryam Esmaili, Director of Educational and Graduate Affairs; members of the Student Committee; and international students of the School. The session aimed to create a friendly and supportive environment, provide academic guidance, and strengthen international engagement.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Farnam welcomed the students and wished them success in their academic journey. She outlined key academic regulations and guidelines, emphasizing the importance of proficiency in both Persian and English prior to the commencement of clinical training.

By presenting essential academic information, she clarified the learning pathway for students and announced that a dedicated link addressing frequently asked academic questions would soon be made available on the School’s website.

International students were also introduced to the members of the Student Committee for International Affairs, enabling them to benefit from the support and guidance of their Iranian peers.

Subsequently, Dr. Pourtaghi provided practical explanations and guidance, familiarizing students with academic procedures and the opportunities ahead.

The meeting concluded in a warm and constructive atmosphere with the presentation of gifts to international students and the taking of a commemorative group photo marking the beginning of a new and promising chapter for a meaningful and enriching experience at the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
