Celebrating International Students’ Graduation Ceremony Tehran University of Medical Sciences  International Campus

Dr. Ghanaati: Provide the reasons for the growth of science in your society.

Dr. Hossein Ghanaati, Chancellor of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, said: “If you want your people to be prosperous, provide the means of  science growth in your society; God will also bless your knowledge”.

According to TUMS Sina Media, Dr. Hossein Ghanaati, Chancellor of the university, on Sunday, March 03, 2024, at the ceremony stated: “I am very happy that I am in a group with common cultural roots”.

The Chancellor of the university mentioned that today's world has developed a lot, in terms of science, and this scientific growth requires cultural growth and added: “Scientific growth in some countries is accompanied by cultural decline, a clear example of which is the aggression we are witnessing in Gaza, and humanity is suffering from the lack of the correct human culture, which is the divine and Islamic culture”.

Dr. Ghanaati emphasized to the international graduates of the university: “maintain your connection with Tehran University of Medical Sciences because the university is on the path of growth and excellence and has many programs in medical fields”.

Referring to the increase of beds at the university hospitals, he pointed to the establishment of Shahid Soleimani Science and Technology Park and said: “According to the contract signed to expand the space of this park, this space has been expanded to 25 hectares and it can become a suitable place for the growth and development of technology-based companies”.

Highlighting the human mission of being useful and serving the society, he said: “The message of the fourth-generation universities is to serve the people, where the society can use your knowledge”.

Referring to the example of the Prophet of Islam, Mohammad (PBUH) as a doctor who looked for the needy people and their spiritual healing, Dr. Ghanaati explained the mission of the Holy Prophet in treating the souls of human beings and added: “Be like the Prophet and strive for the development of your society”.

Stating that the most important indicator of the development of societies is science, the Chancellor of the university advised the graduates of the international campus of the university: “Instead of being worried about the progress of others, teach others what you know. If you want your people live in welfare, provide the means for the growth of science in your society, God will also bless your knowledge”.

At the end, he wished success to the graduates of the international campus of the university.

While congratulating the students, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ayati, Vice-chancellor for International Affairs, said: “I am proud that today we are celebrating the graduation ceremony with you in one of the best universities of medical sciences in the country”.

The International Vice-chancellor of the university said that graduation is an important step in the path of life and added: “We tried, despite of all the difficulties, to overcome the obstacles to reach our goals and today, we are celebrating our achievements. None of us has reached to this level alone, and you are the scientific representatives and ambassadors of the university and of course, of the country”.

Pointing out that medical fields are related to the health and human life, he added: “The ground that you have studied is the most sensitive and responsible disciplines in the world, and we hope you will be able to fulfill this responsibility well and have good memories of your studies and staying here in Iran and at the university”.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Niknam, Director General of Cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education emphasized that science is God's trust and said: “Use what you have learned properly because trustworthiness is a sign of faith”.

Dr. Seyed Mansour Getmiri, Head of the university's Alumni Relations Office, reminded the international graduates of some points and said: “The important thing you should pay attention to is that from now on, your life is going to be dedicated to the people. I am asking you to be responsible in the society, keep with this university, stay committed to this university and respect your fellow man”.

Dr. Seyed Mehdi Rezayat, Vice-dean for Educational Affairs of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, International Campus, referred to the brilliant position of the university in educational, research, student and cultural fields and said: “I hope your presence here at the university improve your scientific, educational and professional level and with your guidance, people from your family and relatives choose this university to continue their studies”.

At the end of ceremony, the international graduates read the Letter of Oath.
