Eritrean Health Minister Meets Professor Larijani
Professor Larijani introduced TUMS’ activities with its 15 Schools, 26 hospitals, 7000 active hospital beds, 110 research centers, 5 incubation centers, more than 2000 faculty members and 20 thousand students to Amina Nurhussein the Eritrean Health Minister. Professor Larijani introduced TUMS centers which are WHO collaborative centers, such as the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center, Gastroenterology and Digestive Diseases Research Center, ENT Research Center, and national poliomyelitis laboratory. Later, Prof. Larijani expressed TUMS willingness to boost its scientific ties with Eritrea and said that the University can accept Eritrean students and hold short-term courses for Eritrean specialists.
Having seven universities in Eritrea and the first faculty of medicine which is newly established and inexperienced, Eritrean Health Minister, Amina Nurhussein said that there will be opportunity for future cooperation with TUMS in this domain.
Establishing new disciplines especially dermatology and ENT, promoting education by teachers, and supervising postgraduate education are three major goals that Eritrean Health Minister hoped to achieve.
