This ceremony was attended by Dr. Kordi, the Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs; Directors of the Office of Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs; Vice-Deans of the International Campus; Deans and Vice-Deans from the International Campus’s Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy; Iranian and International students and their families.

Dr. Kordi opened this ceremony by praising students who have passed the basic sciences courses and are about to start their clinical courses and also congratulated and thanked their families for having raised studious children.

He also highlighted the fact that wearing a “white coat” is a sign of entering the clinical courses and how this transformation demands greater responsibility and commitment. He added: “At this new period, students have more opportunities than in the course of acquiring the basic sciences, so they are expected to spend more time on academic activities that will complement their education. If exercise and physical activity is not taken seriously, the difficulties of studying in medical sciences and the subsequent employment in these professions will cause many problems.” At the end of his speech, Dr. Kordi asked the students to set valuable goals for their academic and professional futures to make their families and Tehran University of Medical Sciences proud.

In the last part of this ceremony, the International Campus’s scholars and top students and researchers of the 2017-18 academic year were commended with appreciation certificates and gifts.

In the end, the Medical Code of Ethics was recited and the students took, in unison, a pledge of professionalism.
