Upon a meeting to celebrate Persian New Year and to renew academic ties with ambassadors and representatives of some countries on February 25, 2013, Dr. Ali Arabkheradmand, Vice-chancellor for Global Strategies & International Affairs (GSIA) expressed TUMS readiness to accept international students from all parts of the world.

Dr. ArabKheradmand promulgated that Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) attempts to recruit international students and enhance the number of international students. To support this attempt, a variety of University-wide initiatives are in place.

Having an eminent background, Tehran University of Medical Sciences with 2000 faculty members, 15 schools, 35 libraries, more than 100 research centers and 5 incubators, is the pioneer University in research for 10 consecutive years among 32 Iranian medical universities.

"The recent efforts by GSIA considering TUMS ranking and accreditation and having received thousands of applications, is a fact that shouldn't be belittled", Dr. Kheradmand added. He prognosticated that GSIA international attemps to accept students with various nationalities in many medical majors seem to be the main priority of this office.
