Upon the Second International Congress on Immunology, Asthma and Allergy{ http://iaa2013.tums.ac.ir/enindex.php} held by Immunology, Asthma and Allergy Research Institute (IAARI){ http://iaari.tums.ac.ir/} affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS){http://www.tums.ac.ir} from 19th to 21st February, 2013 in Iran, TUMS Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs invited the international guests to boost scientific ties.
Second International Congress on Immunology, Asthma and Allergy

During a friendly meeting with the presence of Dr. Mohamad Hossein Niknam, Vice-minister for International Affairs and Dr. Moin, head of Immunology, Asthma and Allergy Research Institute, TUMS representative offered welcome packages to the International guests and invite them officially to develop future scientific collaborations.

 

International lectures: Dr. Ian Adcock, British Professor of Respiratory Cell & Molecular Biology and Head of the Molecular Cell Biology Group at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, Dr. Lennart Hammarström, a Swedish immunologist, Dr. Hans Dieter, a German immunologist whose laboratory has focused on two newly discovered genes causing autosomal recessive hyper IgM syndrome (activation-induced cytidine deaminase, AID), uracil-DNA glycosylate (UNG), Dr. Janos Szebeni, a Hungarian expert in the field of complement research, Dr. Alessandro Plebani, Associate Professor of Contagious Diseases at School of Medicine, University of Florence were present in the meeting.

Talking about different topics such as primary immunodeficiency (PIDs), immune system basics for primary immunodeficiency disorders, PID Registry, overview of gene therapy and bone marrow transplantation, genetic counseling for families, ethical & legal issues in prenatal diagnosis and abortion in primary immunodeficiency disease (PID), role of education in prevention , management and promotion of quality of life in PID, the Congress  addressed Iranian and foreign immunologists, internists, pediatricians, infectious disease specialists, clinical geneticists, lab technicians, clinical pharmacists, nurses, allergy and clinical immunology subspecialists, adult and pediatric respiratory physicians.
