Upon the Ambassadors' Meeting held at TUMS Central Building on February 25, 2013, the ambassadors and the representatives from embassies expressed their opinions about TUMS.

Bilal Emre Biral, Second Secretary of the Turkish Embassy in Iran, thanked the invitation and congratulated Norooz. "In Turkey, medical faculties are part of universities; however, I have to say that because of the number of medical faculties, most of the presidents of universities are selected from medical faculties", he said. He added that Turkish Embassy is ready to build cooperation between Turkish universities and Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

 

Atigh Saheb Zadeh, Second Secretary of Afghanistan Embassy, congratulated Norooz and hoped that medical Tehran-Kabul ties be developed via this meeting.

 

Muhammad Muzzaffar Hussain Jaffari, the Education Counselor for Embassy of Pakistan in Iran, stated that Pakistan and Iran are not only culturally but also historically and linguistically sisters to one another. He added that Embassy of Pakistan welcomes bilateral collaborations with TUMS.



Expressing his thanks and congratulations, Dr. Mohammad Zubeidy, Medical Attach Assistant for Iraq Embassy in Iran, went through details and asked a question about accepting Iraqi students for near future.

 

Expressing his satisfaction to participate in the Meeting, Yogeshmar Sangwan, Deputy Chief of Mission for Indian Embassy in Iran, explained that there are five medical universities in New Delhi. "As we plan to build more medical institutions in other places in India, we welcome cooperation with Tehran University of Medical Sciences," he added.

 

Tukur Mani, Ambassador of Nigeria in Iran, declared that having 100 universities, Nigeria has a few colleges for medical sciences which don't offer good programs for medical sciences. "Now, we try to plan a good program with TUMS and I believe before the end of the year, the number of Nigerian students in Iran will increase," said the Ambassador.

 

Having listened to the presentations of heads of TUMS and representative from other embassies, Moses Levi Emurugat, First Secretary of Kenya Embassy in Iran, expressed his intention to pursue collaboration with Tehran University of Medical Sciences. "Kenya has recognized the importance and the achievements of Iran in medical domain," he said.  Additionally, Kenyan representative showed his deep interest to continue scientific collaboration with TUMS.

 

After conveying his sincere thanks and congratulating Norooz, Alkins Abrokwa from Embassy of Ghana, stated that scientific ties between TUMS and Ghana are already in place but Ghana would like to see how these collaborations could be strengthened. He said that Embassy of Ghana would like to make an appointment with TUMS to look into details.
