European Board OF Pediatric Surgery At TUMS Children’s Hospitals

Prof. Gian Battista Parigi and Prof. Piotr Czauderna from European Board of Pediatric Surgery paid a landmark visit to Bahrami Hospital and Children’s Medical Center on May 4, 2013, to evaluate the competency of the hospitals for mutual cooperation.

 

 

Following the invitation of TUMS, Prof. Gian Battista Parigi and Prof. Piotr Czauderna from European Board of Pediatric Surgery visited Bahrami Hospital and Children’s Medical Center on May 4, 2013, to evaluate the competency of the hospitals for mutual cooperation.

 

In the morning, the two members of FEBPS made a visit to Bahrami Hospital; including different wards of the hospital, PICU, NICU, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatal Surgery, Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Radiology. They were engaged in talk with the authorities of each ward, figuring out initial potentials.

 

They had also opportunity to meet with the head of the hospital, Dr. Rahbarimanesh and some faculty members. Dr. Rahbarimanesh notified that how Iraqi's missile destroyed the hospital in 1988 and four hospital staff, two children in the nursery ward were martyred, and seventy others were injured. “In 1997, the new building was inaugurated,” he added.

 

Dr. Eskandari, Pediatric Surgery Fellow, also explained more about educational and medical work of the hospital via PowerPoint.

 

Upon their visit to Children`s Medical Center, the two distinguished professors got familiar with the diagnostic and therapeutic activities carrying out in the hospital.

 

To begin with, Dr. Ahmadi gave a brief introduction of the hospital and introduced Prof. Valiollah Mehrabi as the father of Pediatric Surgery in Iran.

 

Prof. Gian Battista Parigi thanked the audiences for hospitality and admired the research and medical activities carrying out in Iran. He added, “how big and absolutely unbelievable are the scientific achievements in Iran” and European Board of Pediatric Surgery could interact with TUMS as well as mutual cooperation in different aspects.
