Public Trust, the Most Important Agenda: ITB

"Established in 1994, Iranian Tissue Bank (ITB), affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), respected strict policies and procedures that were written according to guidelines and standards of EATB, AATB & FDA," said Dr. Mitra Mahdavi Mazdeh, head of ITB.

Additionally, she promulgated that over 1,000,000 allograft, a tissue that is removed from a human donor which means the donor material comes from a member of the same species, are implanted in this center each year.  Since 2006, ITB has changed its strategies by using higher technologies to produce new versions of products such as: BBM, MBA and Collagen.

Having gotten the Issued License for Musculoskeletal Products and Certificate for Quality Control (ISO), the role of ITB in national BDD program is remarkable, therefore; the public trust is the most important point for us," Dr. Mazdeh added.
