TUMS School of Public Health in collaboration with UN conducted a workshop on Malaria Microscopy.

A comprehensive workshop on malaria microscopy was conducted for 19 staff of Ministry of Health and Medical Education including microscopists and malaria laboratory personnel. They are currently working in Fars University of Medical Sciences and Gilan University of Medical Sciences. The workshop continued for 3 days (October 8-10, 2013) in the School of Public Health. 

The workshop was conducted according to the policy of Global Fund for malaria control in Iran. The objectives of workshop were the training of participants for the National Malaria Elimination Plan in Iran. The workshop covered different aspects of malaria microscopy.  Professor Mahdi Nateghpoor and Dr. Afsaneh Motavali Haghi from Department of Parasitology were course director and manager, respectively. They were also involved in teaching activities both in practice and theory.
